2024 Annual Report
Major Issues
Since our last annual meeting on August 5, 2023, here are the major issues that have come before the Board:
- The proposed straightening of the I-25 S curve
- The ongoing construction and delays of the at-grade pedestrian crossing at Central and the railroad tracks
- Completion of curbs on sides of the ART bus lane on Central
- Delays in construction of affordable housing on the property owned by Homewise at 119 High SE
- Proposed apartments at 701 Coal SE
- Participation in the national Jane’s Walk in our neighborhood
- Expansion of our social media presence
Other activities of the Board
- Community garden activities continued into the 14th year of this volunteer organization. Members cover the costs of water irrigation and other costs were covered by donations.
- The HHHDA website was managed by David Tanner; cost was $295 for annual website hosting/maintenance/domain security.
- Expenses for the annual meeting/block party on August 5, 2023, were $355 for live music and food.
- Other expenses for the year included gas bills for the station - $379, insurance - $225, replacement of damaged neighborhood sign - $753, purchase of a good neighbor sign - $278
- Revenue for the year was $30 from the sale of historic items maintained by Ann Carson and $815 from Holiday Hijinks.
- The net revenue for this year totaled -$1439.
