Lead Coal Project—Construction is still slated to begin in May and continue for 18 – 24 months. Environmental soil samples along the corridor tested “clean.” The only remaining decision is the color of the light standards: fir green, black-red, or black.
The first vote was split between fir green and black-red. After a brief discussion, the Board agreed on black-red.
First Baptist Church – Art School—Albuquerque Public Schools has an option to buy this property to use as an art school. The Board supports this use for the property.
Neighborhood Signs— Karla reported that she has given the City the specifications for the large sign to be placed at Central and Elm. Cindy Carson has sent the graphics for the sign toppers to Jerry but has not had a response back yet.

She reported that the irrigation system was now complete. All the rows have been committed and gardeners will begin planting soon. The updated budget was approved.
Neighborhood Yard Sale – April 24—Amberley reported that participants will hold sales at their own homes. Maps will be distributed at the Preservation Station. While there was some interest in having items for sale at Preservation Station, no one was available to lead this effort. David will modify and distribute flyers a couple weeks before the event.
Adopt a Park— Joaquin and his group of volunteers will clean the park on Saturday morning. Bonnie will send out a reminder to the leader of each monthly crew just before the Saturday work day. While part of the park renovation will be supported by City funds, we will need additional funds.
Joaquin volunteered to work with Steve Grant to take Rep. Miera to lunch to get advice on what funding might be available for this project. Joaquin and Steve will develop a priority list of neighborhood projects before this lunch meeting.
Preservation Station Repair Priorities—Joaquin will continue to try to get information from Kay and Jerry about the soda water paint removal system.
New Business
701 Coal – Proposed Renovation—Amberley reported that despite apparent progress in dealing with the owners, they decided to cancel the project. Amberley will write a letter on behalf of the Board to express our continuing interest in seeing this property improved.
