MINUTES:
Minutes from February 2020 were read and approved. Attendees introduced themselves briefly.
OFFICER REPORT:
Officers explained there was a decrease in crime in our area in February. Neighbors noted increased crime in alleys and the officers agreed to discuss possible solutions at the April meeting.
NEIGHBORHOOD SAFETY:
Maria Wolfe from Project ECHO (downtown area) discussed how this videoconferencing model that started in the medical field has now expanded to include various agencies impacting public safety.
FENCE PROPOSAL FOR 213 ARNO SE:
Donald Woodman asked the Board to support his request for a five-foot fence for the front of his property, for security purposes. He claimed his selected design would be historically appropriate. Board members and neighbors expressed views ranging from tentative acceptance at a height of four and a half feet to serious objections. No decision was made.
COMMUNITY GARDEN UPDATE:
There is one row available for the 2020 season. Please review the garden agreements on the HHHDA website, and if interested in “renting” this available row, contact Bonnie at 242-8848.
COMMITTEE REPORTS – SOCIAL OUTREACH
The Board approved a budget of $500 for this year’s Easter Egg Hunt.
COMMITTEE REPORTS – RESCUING PROPERTIES
Noreen, owner of the burned-out house in the 300 block of Edith SE, apologized for the year’s-long delay in addressing the condition of her property. She promised to present a restoration plan at the April meeting.
