Officer’s report—Last month there were 5 burglaries: 1 commercial, 2 residential, 2 vehicle and 1 auto theft. Ben expressed concern about activity at Highland Park. Officers replied that a special order is restricting officers from enforcing city ordinances that deal with people occupying city parks (apparently because of an ACLU lawsuit). Officers encouraged citizens to contact the mayor’s office.
Traffic Lights/Bike Safety on Lead/Coal—There is currently $70,000 allocated for signals. Engineering should start in the next 4 weeks. There will also be a study on the bike lanes.
205 Edith NE—Bonnie reviewed the issue with this location: a business operating at this address - which is zoned residential. The owners do not live at this location. The owner of the property was not at the meeting to address this issue.
Distribution of the notice of the Block Party/Annual Election—The annual election/block party is on August 11, 2019, from 5:00pm-8:00pm. We are required to distribute a flyer 4 weeks prior to this event. David Tanner offered to distribute flyers.
Fire Station—The Greek Church will be buying the Fire Station - their offer was accepted.
Web Site—There is a fee $10/month to keep Mail Chimp email list up to date. Salley thinks the list is valuable - she feels that emailing people on the list had contributed to successful Mother’s Day tour. The board agreed to pay ongoing expense.
Meeting adjourned 7:03 pm
Next meeting will be the block party on August 11,
