After the usual crime report, a neighbor alerted officers to a possible trouble spot where chemical smells were apparent. The officers will investigate.
ELECTION RESULTS:
Bob Elwood and Amberley Pyles were welcomed as new Board members. David, Salley, Kathy, Ann, and Pam were reelected. The Board elected current officers for the upcoming term: Bonnie, president; Moises, VP; Salley, treasurer; Pam, secretary.
TRAFFIC LIGHTS/BIKE SAFETY ON LEAD/COAL:
A statement from DMD director, Patrick Montoya, was read. Basically he said that the design phase for the stop lights on Walter had not yet started and that, once started, would take four to six months to complete. At that point the Council would have to make a new appropriation for the construction phase.
205 EDITH NE:
The Board voted to send a letter to Zoning to request enforcement of the violation at 205 Edith NE.
DICKENS:
Ann requested help for the 2019 Dickens event. Megan, Sam and Amberley volunteered to help with cooking. Elijah and Jen volunteered to be guides. There were some suggestions about where the main course might be held this year, but no decision was made.
SAM’S NEW FENCE:
Sam described the replacement fence he planned to install for the wooden fence that recently fell down at his property on the corner of Coal and Walter. He asked for and received the Board’s support for his new fence.
BLIGHTED PROPERTY ACROSS HIGH ST FROM HOLY BURGER:
Ben volunteered to attend the upcoming LUCC meeting to discuss the need to address the property across High Street from Holy Burger. It is in disrepair, not secured, and attracts vagrants. He will report back to the Board after this meeting.
THE STATION:
Ann gave us an update on the renovation of the interior of the Station and retold a bit of the history of the building.
