UPDATES FROM ANN CARSON

WALKING GUIDE UPDATED

Ann let us know that the paperbound HH Walking Guide Book had been updated. $20 for purchase, featuring 3 walking tours               

WELCOME COMMITTEE TO NEW NEIGHBORS

Committee includes Ann, Fiona and Ruth. Walking Guide given to new neighbors

HOUSE ON IRON AND ARNO BEING RENOVATED

Duplex. New Windows and siding. Working with Landmarks Commission.


DR. JAN SPERLING PASSED AWAY RECENTLY 

Helped to create walking guide. Owned 3 properties in the neighborhood. 301 Edith SE (will be sold), 416 Silver SE (not selling), 307 Edith SE ( not selling) 

UPDATE FROM SALLEY - TRAFFIC LIGHTS

Expressed concern over additional lighting that will come with new stoplight. Asking if other street lights close by will be removed or turned off. Has reached out to Councilor Benton’s Office; waiting for reply.

UPDATE FROM BEN - PARK CLEAN UP

Working with City Parks & Rec (Shay Armijo). No returned calls. Burned Arbor to be restored in Fall 2022. Stone work deterioration. CABQ in past said cost too high. Ben to f/up. Suggested Park Adoption by HHHDA. Brenda Elwood currently doing regular volunteer clean up. Bonnie suggested Board Members pick a day to clean up. Fiona suggested one day per month. Those who can agreed to a park clean up on Saturday after the monthly HHHDA meeting at noon.

UPDATE FROM BRUCE - CENTRAL UNDERPASS

Expressed concern for current conditions: No lighting, Photos completely faded, Surface dangerous and disgusting, Safety issue. Tourism Issue w/ new Hotel on Broadway; Connectivity issue from Downtown to EDo/HH; City not doing basic maintenance. Solutions Offered: Install high intensity lighting, Daily sanitation, Improve Art Installation. Bruce is willing to speak during the public comment time at the next Council meeting and Salley agreed to write a letter to Councilor Benton/Mayor’s Office. Board approved Bruce to represent the neighborhood at an upcoming City Council Meeting to express the concern and Salley to write a letter on behalf of the Board. 

CABQ LONG RANGE PLANNING EFFORTS

Sonora and Judith from CABQ Planning Dept. were present to inform the neighborhood of the City’s Long Range Planning efforts underway. Process started 6/2022. Working to capture community’s priorities. Community engagement. Handout given. HHHDA is in the Central ABQ Planning Area.

The next meeting will be December 7.
