Huning Highland Historic District Association Meeting

Here is a summary of the Dec. 7 meeting, thanks to secretary Jen Esquivel.
OFFICER REPORT
· 4 Auto Burglaries
· 0 Residential Burglaries
· 1 Commercial Burglary
· 1 Auto Theft
· Reminder of Car Safety during Holiday Season: Don’t leave things in your car and make sure its locked.
· Neighbors Reported Vandalism at 301 Central Ave around 8:30pm, individual breaking windows, called in but no response
· APD suggested calling ABQ Community Services (242-COPS – non-emergency / 911 – emergency)
· Neighbors reported on 12/6 Broadway/Arno that flash bangs were heard – APD indicated domestic violence issue
· APD suggested neighborhood patrol
BROADWAY ROAD DIET
· CABQ planning road diet from mlk to silver along broadway
· Narrowing Road to One Way each way + bike lane and parking
· Accepting comments until 12/16
· Moises proposes the CABQ extend from Lomas to Coal – Board approved motion for Moises to submit comments
TRAFFIC SIGNAL UPDATE
· Provided by CABQ DMD + City Council
· Signage + Re-Striping (immediate area only?) to be complete Dec/Jan
· Lights will begin flashing for 48 hours prior to launch of new signal
SAFETY PATROL
· David & Fernando Organizing/Leading
· Task is to Observe & Report
· Will need Volunteers
· Thinking Patrol might begin Feb/Mar 2023
ANNUAL EVENTS
MOTHERS DAY TOUR
· HH hosts every other year (odd years), 2023 is HH’s year
· Major Fundraiser for HH
· Duties Include:
o Organizing Tour
o Marketing Tour
EASTER EGG HUNT
· Duties Include
o Organizing Event w/ Press Club
o Park Clean Up
o Purchase Supplies
o Organize Volunteers to Hide Eggs
o Marketing
DICKENS
· Halted as of 2019
· Formerly Organized by Ann Carson
· Previously discussed: Jen Esquivel interested in continuing (maybe 2023/2024)
o Would want to incorporate EDo Businesses
NEW IDEA PROPOSED BY BRUCE REDFORD – Auction / Mixer
· Prompted by the email from David Tanner that any HH events incorporate EDo Businesses
· Held at the Press Club
· Auction of Workshops Provided by EDo Businesses (Picnic by The Grove, Hair Styling by Craft Hair Studio…)
· Organizing Committee Needed
No Neighbors at the time were able to commit to planning any events
*Suggested for any and all events that the neighborhood association try to reach out to other neighbors not serving on the board to help organize/volunteer time/attend events become involved. Need to build email list or find a way to outreach to fellow neighbors other than leaving flyers at the door.
APPOINTMENT OF RUTH LANTRY TO BOARD
· Though not in attendance, Ruth has been helping Ann with various projects and has been notably contributing to HH.
· Motion Approved to add Ruth to the board
The next meeting will be January 4.
