Bernalillo County Liaison—Lenton Malry spoke to the group about how the county commissioners are interested in supporting neighborhoods.
Annual Election—After brief comments from candidates, there being exactly seven candidates and exactly seven openings, all seven candidates were selected by acclamation:
- Ryan Bromberg
- Ann Carson
- Phoenix Forrester
- Kathy Grassel
- Karla Thornton
- Greg Bloom
- Annabel Candelaria
Request for Surface Parking at 119 Arno SE—Despite notice that the owner, Art Hayman, had withdrawn his request for a conditional use permit for surface parking at 119 Arno SE, the matter is again before the zoning commission on September 20. Amberley briefed reviewed the Board’s objection to this request because it may very well lead to the majority of at block being given over to surface parking. Annabel Candelaria volunteered to attend the hearing and it is believed that Moises will also attend.
Burned House on Arno NE—Ann brought pictures of the home that was partially damaged by fire on July 4 (fireworks accident) and asked if anyone would be interested in helping the owner to clean up the scorched front yard. Several offered to help. Ann will arrange a clean up effort.
